SCRATCH – The first look

There’s an odd feeling about that place…

Welcome everybody, to Pine Rivers.

I’m really excited to be sharing with you, the first look at my upcoming novel, SCRATCH. Coming later this year to Wattpad and right here at benjaminlocke.wordpress.com

This sequence is fairly short, but it was the first scene I ever wrote when I started this story and immediately it took me to Pine Rivers. I hope you enjoy and I look forward to sharing more with you in the coming weeks.

SCRATCH

In case you missed it on Twitter a couple of weeks back, I announced my new project, ‘SCRATCH’ which is to be a two part novel, each part novella sized in length and will be published on Wattpad in the coming months. I don’t currently have a release date, the story is still being drafted, but I’m super excited to bring it to you all!

Updates…updates…

So I have been really busy over the last month or so…I’ve been on holiday. I’ve written pieces for 25yearslatersite.com I’ve been flooded with inspiration out of nowhere and I currently have 2 novels on the go. By which I mean I’m writing them. One has taken a back seat while I focus on Scratch which I revealed on Twitter a couple of weeks ago, but it is all very exciting and I can’t wait to get it out to you guys real soon!

I’m going to be giving some more details about Scratch this weekend, so stay tuned! 🙂

A New Adventure

The most exciting news of the year so far for me was landing a position with the great folks over at 25yearslatersite.com earlier this month. It was news I certainly was not expecting and something that happened over only a few days. Monday I was an aspiring part time fiction writer and pharmacy manager without even a inkling that 25 years later were looking for new writers, then by Friday I was all of this things as well as a very excited staff writer for the site.

Having just submitted my first article to my editor, I wanted to share with you a little more depth in to this news as well as give a little exposure to the site. 25YL started out as a site for the return of David Lynch’s Twin Peaks on Showtime. Most recently though it has branched out in to all manner of other TV and Film, not just posting reviews but delving deeper in to their subject, asking questions and posing theories, not to mention interviews with some very awesome people!

I would therefore urge you to take a look at the site if you enjoy TV and film. Maybe there’s an aspect of your favourite show you had never even dreamed of, but these guys are exploring it! I’m extremely pleased and excited to be embarking on this new adventure, and I hope you are too.

Where have you been??

So I just checked my blog feed an realised that my last post was on the 30th October last year. Almost 5 months!!

This begs the question, where the hell have I been?

Well, throughout November I took part in NaNoWriMo. I had planned to be much more active throughout the month, posting snippets of the story I was writing etc. But working full text and writing everyday took its toll on my and I had to focus solely on those two tasks. In the end, I finished NaNoWriMo a winner! Yay!

Following NaNo, I was ready to move house. Me and my wife purchased our first home in September and by the end of November we were almost ready to go and by the 15th December it was moving time.

Moving and Christmas took up all my time and then settling in, unpacking, doing bits of DIY, getting a new roof and decorating just sucked away all my time and energy for weeks.

Now though I feel I’m back on track. We’re mostly settled and nearly unpacked 😉

I have much more time for reading and writing (although I still waste most of my time procrastinating). I must admit I haven’t written a word of story since the end of NaNo and I have only reviewed about 2 pages of the NaNo manuscript. I do however find myself overflowing with creativity and have at least 3 new stories ready and waiting to be tapped out.

I’m hoping 2018 will be my most creative and productive year to date, and I hope you too will come along for the journey with me.

I want to keep this blog as updated as possible and will strive to bring news, reviews and other bits at least once a week.

So stay tuned, friends, and have a great day!

NaNoWriMo 2017

I would like to take this opportunity to formally announce my participation in National Novel Writing Month for 2017 which begins in just 2 weeks!!!! 1st-30th November.

Over the coming days i will be making announcements about the novel that i plan to write and my fundraising effort, as well as how you can get access to the novel as i write it!

Stay tuned…..

Happy reading.

Where am I?

Im Here! I’ve been away, literally. Several weeks ago i promised a book review and it never appeared. Truth is, i was busy getting married. July has been a complete blur, having 3 weeks away from work and even longer away from my office it has been a whirlwind and possibly the quickest month of my life.

Now though, im back. Back at the day job and back at the night job if you catch my drift. Ive even read a couple more books in that time that i need to review but most importantly for now, the review of Gwendy’s button box is written. Its sat on my mac waiting for me to proof read and then you can have it. So THIS week its dropping for definite!

Peace. 😉
